The VAC Board would like to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to the families who attended the VAC’s Cleanup Day on May 9, 2015 and worked so hard.
The volunteers set up tables and chairs, unpacked pool equipment, cleaned, threw out junk, built kid toys, swept, tilled the volleyball and tetherball sand pits, moved sand, and stone, and attended to a variety of smaller jobs that were necessary to get the pool ready to go.
We could not have gotten it done without the help of the following families (in no particular order):

VAC Members,
The 2013 season has seen a series of after-hours break-ins at our pool. On several different occasions vandals have thrown chairs, rocks, benches, and the ping pong tables into the pool. Fortunately, there has not yet been significant damage. The police have been notified but have not yet secured any leads. If you know anything about these incidents, please contact any member of the VAC Board.
In response, the VAC has embarked on an escalating series of measures to enhance safety, including closer cooperation with the Vienna Police Department, new locks, new signage, and new lights. Despite these steps, the intrusions have continued. The VAC Board is determined to prevent damage to the pool as well as to prevent intruders from inadvertently hurting themselves or drowning.
VAC will install a camera-based security system to deter and identify the intruders. The cameras will only be outdoors, monitoring the pool and grounds, and will only operate when the pool is closed. The footage will be reviewed and will be erased. VAC will only save the footage if needed for law enforcement or other legal purposes.
If VAC does identify the intruders, we may exercise all means at our disposal, including prosecution, to deter future incidents.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions via email: fsheridan (-at-) verizon dot net (email address obfuscated to elude web spammers
Frank Sheridan
